Liferock was the first novel I finished on my own, without help from a collaborator. Set in the Earthdawn fantasy universe, the book tells the tale of a young obsidiman named Pabl Evr. Pabl goes on a quest to save his brotherhood and his liferock from destruction.

The book's themes involve combating addiction and fighting psychological programming. It was a fun book to write and I learned a great deal from crafting it. FASA contracted with me to publish the novel as the eleventh in their Earthdawn series, but the line of novels in that particular universe never made it that far.

The novel was never put into print. So I requested the rights back, and got them. Thanks to FASA, I have permission to publish the book with the Earthdawn elements intact.

Therefore, I have decided to serialize the book in this space for free reading. I have started posting content, and will continue to put up chapters at approximately one each week until the entire novel is published here. However, even though it will be free, I would like to know who's reading. So I am setting up a password-protected area for the Liferock chapters. To gain access please fill enter your name and email address in the form below. I will send you the password for access once I've posted the first chapter. Signing up will also allow me to let you know when each chapter has been uploaded for reading.

I am also in the process of publishing a trade paperback version of the book through Per Aspera Press. Anyone who wants to put a copy of the novel on his or her shelf, or who doesn't have the patience to wait until I've posted all of the chapters to finish reading the story will have the option to buy a copy from me.
